I’m very proud to announce the debut of my line of fine art photographs. In addition to my portrait work, I will soon be offering fine art prints and commissions to clients in the Madison area and beyond.

A selection of art prints (by myself and my husband) as well as a number of my favorite portrait images are currently on display at the Village Lights Bookstore on E. Main St. through March 23. I want to thank the many friends – both old and new – who came out to the opening on Friday night. It was a pleasure to be able to share and discuss my work with you and your kind words were very much appreciated.

Do I have pictures of the display? Indeed I do – but I want to encourage you go down and see it in person. *wink* The Village Lights owners, Nathan and Anne, have done a wonderful job of creating a beautiful, warm, and inviting space for book and art lovers of all ages in their historic Madison building. Please visit, say hi, support a local independent business, and give a skritch to Oscar Wilde, the bookstore cat. (I have decided that in my next life, I want to come back as a bookstore cat.) After March 23, I will debut a new fine art site and share images of and from the display.

Not from Madison? Why not go and see what your local independent bookseller has to offer?

jack, 6 months

Met Jack and his family in the park for his 6-month portraits. I’m finding it hard to believe that half a year has passed already. He’s getting big, and cute, and is a total flirt!

Look at those chins and chubby neck rolls! I could eat him up with a spoon and a side of snickerdoodles.

winner, winner…

… chicken dinner! (as the kids like to say)

I donated one of my holiday mini-session packages to our local elementary school’s raffle, and this gorgeous family won! Congratulations, you guys – I had a great time working with you!

once upon a time, I took this picture

and it was and still is among my very favorites of all the images I have ever taken.

That baby girl is a preschooler now, and a big sister.

I went out to the family farmstead for little sister’s baby portraits – she’s at that terrific age when she’s sitting up and charming, but not quite mobile enough to get away from the photographer. Timing is everything. ;)

I love love love those chubby little legs!

And I loved this teeter-totter (which you might have gotten a glimpse of in this post) which her dad fashioned out of an old tractor. It was the perfect prop… too bad it was too big for me to stuff in my camera bag.
