This lovely lady and I go way back. I mean, WAY back. We met in New Jersey in 8th grade, when we were Army kids and our fathers were stationed at the same post. We lost track of each other for many years after reassignments separated us, and recently found each other again through the wonder of Facebook. Since we ended up within a day’s drive of each other, I was more than happy to oblige when she asked me to visit and document her growing family.
The Mater Familias:

Her firstborn. He was a fast one but I got him!

And her girlie!

And the original baby. He was so sweet and I fell in love with him, even if he does look totally confused. “Why are you on the floor and what IS that thing??”

Enjoy your sneak peek, Kara, and thank you so much for a fabulous weekend in Chicago!
He’s finally here! He took his time and kept us all waiting, but his parents and friends agree he was well worth it.
I love getting details of newborns from head…

… to toes:

And here is that sweet face!

One of the things I just love about this family is their commitment to their own family history, and to art. Their home is filled with art and antiques and most of the items in their house have an interesting story. They asked me to photograph Jack in his christening gown, which has served four generations in his family, and we placed him in his grandfather’s chair:

I couldn’t resist this antique mirror, either!

And after we had totally worn the little guy out, it was time for a lullaby from dad and some dancing with mama.

I love Madison, Indiana, and I want to offer something to help celebrate our Bicentennial!
In honor of Madison’s Bicentennial, if you contact me during the 200-hour party (now through Sunday, 6/14) to book a portrait session (which may be held between now and 9/30/09), you’ll receive a bonus $200 print credit toward your order!
Want to book a session? Have questions? Just email me!
I was thrilled when this couple called me for a maternity/newborn session. Local artists and musicians, they are extremely talented and also two of the lovliest people I have ever met. They radiate positive energy and love and I know their new baby boy will shine with the same light. He is almost here and I cannot wait to meet him.
